How to Make Your Instagram Bio Stand Out
Your Instagram bio is limited to 150 characters — every character counts. Unicode styled text helps you emphasize key information without using extra characters for formatting markup.
Use bold for your key identity: Make your name, title, or primary descriptor bold to catch attention immediately. Example: "𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 | Photography and Design" stands out more than plain text.
Use script for a personal touch: A script-style name or catchphrase adds warmth and personality. Example: "𝒞𝒶𝓅𝓉𝓊𝓇𝒾𝓃ℊ 𝓂ℴ𝓂ℯ𝓃𝓉𝓈" as a photography bio header.
Combine styles sparingly: One styled element draws attention; multiple styled elements compete and look cluttered. Use one bold element for identity, one script element for flavor, and leave the rest plain.
Use symbols instead of words: Replace "based in NYC" with "📍 NYC". Replace "contact me" with "📧 email@domain.com". Symbols and emojis save characters and are more scannable.
Format URLs with care: Use a link-in-bio service or a short URL. Unicode styling does not work in URLs, so keep links plain. Use line breaks (on desktop) to separate sections visually.
Test before finalizing: Check how your bio looks on both the Instagram app and the mobile web version. Unicode characters render differently across platforms — some styles may appear as empty boxes on certain devices.
